Kitchen, Dining and Living Accommodation

Living Room Nether Whitlaw Farm Cottage is furnished to a high standard and offers comfortable accommodation amid beautiful scenery. The cottage was originally much smaller and was home to a farmworker and his family in the early 1900's. The cottage has been extensively modernised and thoughtfully extended in recent years. The cottage offers the following accommodation.

Dining Area The entrance porch affords plenty of space for boots and coats. A spacious hall has the ground floor rooms leading off. Upgraded in 2004, the living room has an open fire, exposed ceiling beams, extending dining table and chairs, with comfortable modern seating. There is a good supply of leaflets and books with information on local birds, wildlife, flowers, history, maps and things to do, and some board games are available. There is also a telephone and television with DVD player. Wireless internet access is also now available.

Kitchen
In 2007 the kitchen and utility areas were extended to provide spacious and useful areas whilst the kitchen/breakfasting room benefits from stunning views to the Cheviot Hills.

Kitchen & Breakfast Room The dining kitchen is well equipped with modern electric cooker, microwave oven, dishwasher and fridge freezer. There is a full range of crockery, cutlery, glasses and cookware. Double doors from the kitchen lead to the front garden.

Kitchen Hall

Off the kitchen is a utility room with washer-drier, iron and ironing board, and a separate WC and washhand basin. A small cupboard contains a vacuum cleaner, mop, brushes and dusters.

Kitchen & Breakfast Table

Heating is from an oil fired boiler to radiators in all the rooms. There is also an open fire in the living room. There is a weekly charge for oil and coal is usually available at extra cost, but please order when booking. Electric meter readings should be taken at the start and the end of your stay. Smoke detectors are fitted throughout.
